Booking and Payment

By booking a tour with Great Orkney Tours you are agreeing to my Terms and Conditions.

On booking a tour you are committed to paying a non-refundable deposit to secure the booking, the remaining cost 90 days prior to the tour date.  If your booking is less than 90 days away then full payment is required.  You can pay with any of the following methods:

  • By cheque made payable to Jean Ross drawn on a UK bank, post to Bonnie Brae, Tankerness, Orkney KW17 2QS.  Please note a post dated cheque will not secure your tour, I must have the funds to confirm the booking
  • By credit card through Square, I will email you an invoice which is payable by credit card.
  • By bank transfer to my account, if this is your preferred method I will supply you with my details.

Cancellation

If for any reason I am unable do the tour due to unforeseen circumstances I will have a fully qualified guide in my place to look after you and follow the itinerary written for your tour. Please be assured that this would be only in extreme circumstances.

If for any reason I have to completely cancel your tour I will refund your full payment. It is very unlikely I would have to completely cancel a tour and would only do this if the circumstances were entirely beyond my control.

If for any reason you have to cancel your tour and it’s over 14 days before the tour you will be refunded 50% of the cost less any payment charges incurred.  If the cancellation is within 14 days of the tour there will be no refund.

If you are arriving by Cruise Ship or Ferry to Orkney and have a Private Tour booked with me in my vehicle you will get a 50% refund if the Cruise Ship or Ferry do not get here.

You are advised to take out travel insurance to cover any cancellation fees.  If you require any documentation to make any claim please contact me and I will be only too happy to help. All refunds will be £ sterling and any fluctuation in exchange rates will not be my responsibility.
